Book of Intentions
We know that prayer is powerful, and now we have a way for you to include your prayer needs with the prayers of the parish. In our Book of Intentions in the narthex, you may write whatever is concerning you as well as share news of answered prayers. As you write, please consider the privacy of others and list only relationships (friend, uncle) instead of names. As we enter the church, we can read and include the prayers in our personal prayers and the prayers of our community.
About our Prayer Ministry
In Need of Prayer? Life can be hard and, at times, we can feel overwhelmed and even alone. Part of belonging to a community of faith means having people, even people we don’t know, love and care about us. These are our sisters and brothers in faith and they are here to help each of us. One way they do this is by praying for us.
Our Prayer Ministry is made up of parishioners who are committed to prayer and to living the call to “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2). They are eager to lift our burdens before the Lord through prayer and to stand with us as we go through the trials of life. Like you, they are people who have suffered the same hurts, fears, pains, sickness, loss and everyday burdens.
If you would like to be a parish prayer minister, please email us at prayers@sjcmmd.org. We invite you to share your prayer request by emailing us at prayers@sjcmmd.org.
We invite you to join in prayer for the intentions entrusted to us by Pope Francis in May 2016:
-
-
- Respect for Women: That in every country of the world, women may be honored and respected and that their essential contribution to society may be highly esteemed.
- Evangelization: That families, communities, and groups may pray the Holy Rosary for evangelization and peace.
Prayer for our Troops
Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the selfless acts
they perform for us in our time of need.
And give us peace.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Prayer for our Parish
Please pray for our community
that hearts are open to receiving the Holy Spirit
in a way that will be transformational,
leading to lives lived with passion and purpose.
Let us pray for our priests
and all those who lead within our churches
that they may rekindle the fire of their hearts,
shepherding those in their care
with loving compassion and holy wisdom.
Strengthen them and us
for the great spiritual battle of our times. [20Jul15]*
