Jolt of Faith 5/29 – Why Mary Always Leads Us Back to Jesus | A Catholic Reflection to End May

As we close out the month of May—traditionally dedicated to Mary—this final jolt of faith is a simple yet profound reminder: Go to Mary, and she will always lead you back to God.

Drawing inspiration from St. Alphonsus Liguori, we explore how Marian devotion isn’t about worshipping Mary—it’s about trusting her as a spiritual guide who lovingly redirects us when we feel lost, distracted, or off track. Her entire mission as Mother of God is to point the way back to her Son, Jesus.

Whether you’re deep into your Rosary journey or just starting to reconnect with your Catholic faith, let this short reflection inspire you to call on Mary in prayer—especially when you need help finding your way back.

Jolt of Faith 5/29 – Why Mary Always Leads Us Back to Jesus | A Catholic Reflection to End May

Saint Alphonsus Liguori says, “Go to Mary. She always leads us back to God.” You know, as Catholic sometimes our devotion to the Blessed Lady gets very misunderstood that we honor her or we go to her rather than Jesus. The Mary’s role is always, as Saint Alphonsus said, to bring us back to God. She is that door that opens the path back up to Jesus, her son. So each time we go to Mary in prayer or we cry out to her in need, she’s always directing us back to the right path, back to Jesus, back to her son. And that’s why Mary serves as a great role model and a great intercessor for us. Because sometimes we all get a little off track. Sometimes we all get a little distracted.

Sometimes we get downright lost. But every time we go to our mother, she’ll always get us back on track, but she’s always going to lead us back to only one place, and that’s back to Jesus. Not a sermon, not a homily, but just that little Jolt of Faith we may need.
