Feast of St. John Wine Blessing

Feast of St. John Wine Blessing – 9:00 am Mass at St. John
According to legend, St. John was served poisoned wine but survived because he blessed the wine before he put it to his lips; the poison rose from the chalice in the shape of a serpent. In his happy memory, it is traditional to bless wine on his feast day, December 27th. Our Pastorate is invited to participate with this ancient tradition this year – and we have made it easy for you! Fr. John has selected a bottle of wine for the blessing, and it can be purchased through the Frederick Winehouse online here:
Casalbordino Sinello Montepulciano Reserve
Did not order wine? No worries! You can also bring your favorite wine and have it blessed at the end of Mass on December 27 at the St. John campus.
