December 27 – 9:00 am Mass at St. John
According to legend, St. John was served poisoned wine but survived because he blessed the wine before he put it to his lips. The poison rose from the chalice in the shape of a serpent. In his happy memory, it is traditional to bless wine on his feast day, December 27. As a Pastorate we will continue that tradition by blessing wine after the 9:00 am Mass on December 27 at St. John. The wine will be delivered to the parish – no need to pick it up! It will be available for pick-up after the blessing on December 27 and after the 9:00 am and 11:00 am Masses on December 28 at St. John. Did not order wine? No worries! You can also bring your favorite wine and have it blessed at the end of Mass on December 27 at the St. John campus.
